My New Beginning
This sermon delves into ways in which we can cultivate a heart of generosity, and the impact it can have on our own lives. When we give generously, whether it be our time, resources, or talents, we are sowing seeds that have the potential to bear fruit in our own lives and in the lives of those around us. And as Paul writes, God is the one who supplies the seed and the bread, and he is the one who will increase our store and enlarge the harvest of our righteousness.
The detriment to our ability to harvest a crop could be seen as not using your resources in a way that will bear fruit and bring blessings. Instead of using your resources to help others or invest in something that will yield a long-term return, you might be tempted to use them selfishly or wastefully.
